Born in 1985 in Pabianice, Poland, Aleksandra Cegielska embarked on a journey of self-discovery through the study of International Affairs. However, her true passion lay in art, which she pursued after realizing her affinity for exploring different cultures and promoting gender equality. Settling in Basel, Switzerland, Aleksandra's travels instilled in her a keen observation of life and a deep appreciation for diverse societies.
Her artwork serves as a conduit for expressing her beliefs and experiences. By conceptualizing non-conforming silhouettes, shapes, and colors, she explores the interconnectedness of the body and mind, with vibrant hues taking center stage. Through her lived experiences and observations, Aleksandra gains a profound understanding of the world and its people, which she translates into inspiring and thought-provoking works of art.
Her creations spark open conversations on topics such as the body, sexuality, and societal norms, inviting viewers to challenge social stereotypes. Utilizing various techniques, including drawing, sculpting, photography, and textiles, she brings her artistic vision to life. Aleksandra's art celebrates the importance of personal encounters and serves as a catalyst for dialogue, encouraging viewers to embrace diversity and promote inclusivity in society.
“To observe, experience, and live to later create, inspire, and motivate is the biggest form of artistic expression.”
